Dr. Bonds speaks to us on the topic of using emotional intelligence and what it means to be a black psychologist. As the founder of Bond Consulting Group, LLC she has worked to enhance the lives of others by bridging education, self-advocacy, mental health awareness, and emotional wellness. During the podcast, Dr. Bond discusses how she persevered through her educational journey and some of the challenges that she faced. She also shares expert advice on selecting and navigating career paths and discusses the work she does with youth to encourage and inspire them. Her business services exist because of her research and belief in the importance of leveraging emotional intelligence to navigate the world and advance in educational and professional environments. Dr. De`Anna Bond received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Capella University. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University, M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Rosemont College, and an Educational Specialist certification in School Counseling. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in the psychology and educational fields managing counseling teams and implementing student support programming in schools. She is an advocate of youth voice on topics such as social emotional learning, anti-bullying, anti-violence, trauma-informed care, and restorative practices.
