Join us on this week’s Black Doctors Talk Podcast which features our guest, Dr. Darryl L. Jones. Dr. Jones speaks to us on the topics of transitioning from active service and financial counseling. Dr. Jones is an accomplished U.S. Army combat veteran with 25 years of active military service that includes being awarded the Bronze Star Medal (Meritorious) in combat operations. Dr. Jones has served in senior leadership positions such as First Sergeant (Army), Special Operations, Adjunct Professor, Senior Instructor/Writer, and host of positions in financial management in the United States Government. During the podcast, Dr. Jones shares his insights on his career highlights in the military, his driving motivation and its impact on his family, and what inspired him to become a financial counselor. He discusses his publications that he has developed to help educate African Americans on wealth building. Dr. Jones currently serves as a Personal Financial Counselor at Fort Campbell, KY serving the military community consisting of 29,000 + Service Members and their families. He also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Hopkinsville Community College in Hopkinsville, KY since 2016. Dr. Jones earned his Doctor of Educational Leadership degree from the University of Phoenix. He is married to his wife Lynette of 17 years, with five children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr, Jones and his family enjoy extensive travel both in the United States and abroad, while continuing to serve in his 20th year as a youth track & field coach.
